Overview:
The AU8524 is a sophisticated demodulator IC for digital terrestrial (ATSC 8-VSB) and digital cable (ITU-T J.83 Annex B) TV signals. The AU8524 builds on Auvitek's powerful and efficient demodulation algorithms and adaptive signal tracking architectures to deliver unprecedented receiver performance.
The innovative features of the AU8524 include a fully compliant ATSC A/74 8-VSB demodulator and 64/256 QAM demodulator. The AU8524 directly accepts IF or low IF from the RF tuner section via a 12-bit internal Analog-to-Digital Converter, and following demodulation and error correction, outputs MPEG-2 transport stream.
The AU8524's small size and low power make it well suited for any system designed to receive DTV broadcasts including stand-alone SDTV or HDTV sets, STBs, and PC peripherals.
